ARRANGEMENTS BY SUE CARPENTER

While I'd love to post a new arrangement every month, I'm starting this new addition to my Website with good intentions and a realistic goal to add a tune or two from time to time.  Keep checking for new tablature.

My arrangements will range from strumming to fingerpicking, original to traditional, solos to duets, and whatever else captures my fancy and hopefully yours.  Playing levels will vary and will be noted with each arrangement.  Enjoy the music but please do not mass distribute to your mailing list. If you want to share, tell your friends to visit this page.

The best way to learn each tune is to hear it played, so I'm providing synthesizer sound files in MIDI and TEF formats created in TablEdit notation software.  Tefview is the free reader program available from TablEdit.com.  The MIDI file plays the piece at a set tempo while the TEF file allows you to control the tempo so that you can play along at whatever speed is comfortable for you -- a great way to practice and learn.

To open files, you will need Adobe Reader (PDF), Tefview (TEF), and QuickTime (MIDI).

"Nutfactory Shuffle" is a fun piece to play and is a great way to learn basic D-G-A (I-IV-V) chords.  The rhythm with its calypso feel can be a bit tricky because it alternates between a bum-diddy and a slightly offbeat, calypso strum.  Listening to the sound files and playing along at a slow tempo will help you get the feel of the rhythm and the strumming.
